Your Career At Summit
The working environment at Summit Environmental
Consultants Inc. provides the professional advantages of a large
firm plus the benefits of working within a focused team where your
efforts and input make a difference. Summit is an employee-owned
firm.

Our Vernon office is located in British
Columbia's beautiful Okanagan Valley where lakes, world-class skiing,
mountain-biking and hiking trails, and golf courses are just minutes
away. Our 7,000 square foot office is located in downtown Vernon
and most of our staff travel for less than 15 minutes to get to
work. The office is equipped with showers and indoor bicycle racks
to encourage bike commuting and lunch hour fitness routines. Vernon
has proven to be an excellent site for business as well as a great
lifestyle location, as we are only 35 minutes from the Kelowna International
Airport with its direct flights to Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton,
Toronto, Victoria and Seattle.
Our Calgary office is situated in the Northwest
corner of the city, about a 15 minute drive from Calgary's vibrant downtown
core and within a 5 minute walk of the Crowfoot C-train station. The office
is surrounded by many amenities, including shops, restaurants, and a cinema.
Access to Calgary’s extensive pathway and bikeway network is available from
the front door of the office. The mountains may be a 60 minute drive away,
but the view from the office balcony makes them feel like they are in our
backyard.
In
addition to competitive compensation that includes profit-sharing
and eligibility for bonus, Summit's standard working framework and
benefit package includes the following:
- Dental, basic medical, extended medical,
disability, and life insurance coverage;
- Group RRSP contribution by the company;
- Three weeks vacation to start, going to
four weeks after five years;
- The ability to bank overtime and take it
as time off;
- A "Healthy Benefit", currently up to $400/year
that can be put towards a ski pass, gym membership, golf membership,
or other regular physical activity;
- Ability to attend conferences, courses,
and other training opportunities. All staff go to at least one
such event per year; and
- Enhanced maternity leave benefits.
In addition, all staff members are supervised
and mentored by a senior professional and are encouraged to help
develop new lines of business that fit within their interests and
abilities.
Summit is an active member of the communities
in which we work. We have supported a range of charities and sporting,
educational, and cultural organizations with our time as well as
financially. These have included the Okanagan Science Centre, the
Terry Fox Run, the Sovereign Lake Nordic Club, Hospice House, the
Vernon Art Gallery, stream cleanup days, and school science fairs.
