Prepared an Ecosystem Management Plan for E.C. Manning and Skagit Valley Provincial Parks and the Cascade Recreation Area. Assembled, reviewed, and summarised existing biophysical, ecological, socio-economic, and historical-cultural information for the three protected areas. Identified gaps in the information base and made recommendations for further study. Developed criteria for Ecosystem Management Zones (EMZ) in the study area based on Environmentally Sensitive Areas and Valued Ecosystem Components. Provided recommendations on EMZ locations and processes for environmental assessments of proposed facilities in each zone. Prepared EMZ maps in the Arc/Info geographic information system.
