Summit provided Project Management services on behalf of the Okanagan Basin Water Board for a two million dollar water supply and demand study for the Okanagan Basin.  In this capacity Summit was responsible for budgeting, scheduling, program management, hiring and managing consultants, provision of technical advice (particularly on water use and demand), and reporting.  Summit also led the OBWB Hydrology and Hydrologic Modelling Project that developed estimates of naturalized flows at 81 locations within the Okanagan Basin.  Using this and other key information, the team (Summit with DHI Inc. and Polar Geoscience) developed a deterministic model of flows at these locations using the MIKE SHE (System Hydrologique European) hydrologic model.  The model will be used to guide water management decisions in the Basin as water supply and demand conditions change due to climate change, population growth, and other driving factors.  Summit hydrogeology specialists also played a major role in a Basin-wide groundwater study that characterized the Okanagan's aquifers and assessed the potential for groundwater to satisfy future water demand.
