Summit currently represent the Fort McKay First Nation and Metis community in the oil sands region on Cumulative Environmental Management Association (CEMA) and Canadian Oil Sands Network for Research and Development (CONRAD) committees. We are active participants on the Regional Aquatics Monitoring Program (RAMP) and on the Fish Tainting Committee. RAMP collects aquatic data related to climate, hydrology, water and sediment quality, aquatic biota (fish and invertebrates), and acid-sensitive lakes. The Fish Tainting Committee supports and recommends direction on academic research about taste and odour concerns with fish in the lower Athabasca River region.
