Completed the Environmental Impact Assessment of the planned Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) on the Kamloops Indian Band Reserve #1. A preliminary assessment was completed as part of the feasibility study to meet Public Works & Government Services Canada's environmental screening obligations under the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act. The WWTP will treat an ultimate sewage flow of 15,700 m3/day and discharge the treated effluent to the North Thompson River. This was followed by completing the EIS that led to successful registration of the system under the Municipal Sewage Regulation (MSR).  The assessment considered impacts to water quality and fisheries in the receiving environment, and the cumulative effect of the new discharge given existing downstream discharges from the City of Kamloops WWTP and a major pulp mill. Also assess potential impacts on wildlife habitat, air quality, noise, and land use. Developed mitigation and monitoring strategies.
